Established in 1974, to serve the first generation of Bangladeshi, Punjabi and Indian immigrants working and living in London.

The Meraz philosophy has not changed, to this day serving truly authentic recipes true to the restaurant’s roots in the heart of Shoreditch and Brick Lane.

Meraz has been a London institution since 1974 and those in the know always arrive early for the best pick of the menu.

Our team cook everything from scratch each morning using the highest quality ingredients, fresh spices and carefully selected cuts of meat. Cooked using traditional recipes we only produce a limited number of each dish, once it’s sold out you’ll have to wait until tomorrow.

We’ve got a tempting selection of soft drinks but you’re also welcome to bring your own alcohol if you wish. Don’t forget we’ve also got a great range of popular vegan dishes too!

You know you’re in a great restaurant when the staff eat the exact same food as the customers - we couldn’t make it anymore authentic.

Food is freshly prepared and full of flavour every time I eat here. Definitely try the daily special - even the humble biriyani on Friday is amazing , and the vegetarian options are great with unusual veg to try. Would eat more if I could.
